Day breaks over the hill

Wandering into the kitchen; I’m arrested by the warm, red light washing the walls. Looking over the garden, the sun spills over the hill, soaking the world in golden brilliance.

Illuminated leaves

As the sun rose higher in the sky, warming the still cool air, beech leaves illuminated in new radiance. Blackbird song thrills the air, a cloud of goldfinch alight upon the cherry tree. Swallows swoop and chatter, stopping on the telephone wires before shooting off across the fields.

All around, the garden has come to life, leaves breaking into new foliage, wild flowers open daily, the sea is brilliant blue but the sky pale fading into mist, screening the distant isle. A small yacht, sails gleaming in the sunshine, plays upon the water. Looks to be a lovely gardening day!

Thanks for stopping by today – have a good day!
