Golden sunset over Arran

It’s good to leave each day behind,

like flowing water, free of sadness.

Yesterday is gone and its tale told.

Today new seeds are growing.

Whispers of the Beloved

Rosa 'Albertine'

Thank you for all your recent kind thoughts and words of comfort. Although this is a sad time as we adjust to life without Mum, it was a privilege to be able to sit at her bedside and with each other. I don’t think we have shared so many meals or spent so long in each others company for a long time, sharing and remembering, learning new things about Mum, as our memories are so different.

Mum loved flowers. In spite of the rain, each brought a small offering from their garden, covering her small coffin in flowers of every hue. In awe of our sister conducting the ceremony with great dignity. Another sister reminding us that Mum was “Google” before google was… A picture montage of her life, created by another sister. A time to honour our Mum and find solace in each other…

Monday was a fine sunny day, first day I have been out with my camera since Mum took ill. Finding peace and consolation in warm, rose perfumed air…
