Working in a room at the back of the house, suddenly realised how dark it had become; I’d completely missed the sunset. Chickens had finally taken themselves to bed unaided. Hooray! A stillness had fallen upon us, no cars, no bikes, no tractors. Just the far lights of the small fishing boats, the comforting beam of the lighthouses and the fading light to the North. Bats skimmed the treetops; moths skipped over the flowers,visiting the Evening Primroses (Oenothera  biensis) and Night scented stocks.The bats fed on the moths – it’s a harsh world.

New to photography as I am to blogging; am amazed how good cameras are in lowlight situations. The “Moon Garden” I had hoped to plant became a mixed garden as there were not enough white plants to fill it; pity there was no moon last night…
