Annoying when the weathermen get it right! Lunchtime came around along with the promised rain, just as the postman arrived carrying  a large brown box. Inside were beautiful fruit bushes, gooseberry, raspberries, red and black currants, straight from the nursery. It rained most of the afternoon but then we had an hour between showers. I had to ignore the wondrous sky as the low clouds were painted red. Resist the urge to ponder the grey and golden firmament and keep planting before sunset. Each little bush planted with a grateful heart, eager for next summer’s harvest.  Have been missing my allotment and soft fruit, no jam or conserve, no cordials, no pies. So please grow little plants, grow!
